Cherry

The various varieties that we carry are recommended for this area and are grown in three to seven gallon nursery pots at the nursery.  The recommended planting times for container grown trees is early spring and late fall.  This is also when we carry the largest selection of trees on site.

Cherry - Bing

Bing trees display a spreading canopy and reach 16 to 18 feet in height. We recommend planting them in light, sandy soil with steady irrigation during dry periods to prevent cracking due to fluctuations in soil moisture. You do need a pollinator for Bing; any other sweet cherry variety will do the trick. We recommend planting two different varieties with Bing for the best fruiting. Fruit ripens uniformly around mid-summer (mid- to early July in Zone 6). Zones 5-8.

Cherry - Black Tartarian

The Black Tartarian Cherry is a medium sized purplish-black sweet cherry. The flesh is dark red, juicy, very rich and delicious. This erect tree is a productive and vigorous grower. The Black Tartarian cherry needs pollination and the fruit ripens late June.  The tree grows to approximately 25 feet in height.
